As sit on my comfy sofa, looking out the window at this nonstop rain, I'm wondering when the pretty sunshine is going to come and stay for a while. It's June and it has still been feeling like April showers. The ironic part is I think the last time I experienced consecutive days of sunny bliss was when I was in Seattle a few weeks ago. Well, all I can do is daydream about the sun on my day off from work and share some lovely sun-inspired handmade goodies I came across on Etsy:
Pistolera…for all you non-Spanish speakers out there, translates to "female gun-slinger." A long time ago in Mexico, there were women who needed to protect their homes and families from enemy soldiers fighting in the Mexican Revolution. They were not afraid to go to battle and still be able to hold everything together at home. This is the inspiration for my alter ego. La Pistolera is "Misty,” who thrives on discovering new pop culture, expresses her artistic abilities through various mediums and is fond of surviving the ways of life in the concrete jungle. La Pistolera is a down-home Texas girl at heart and a big city lady with a few things on her mind.
